Concord Engineering

Concord Engineering is a Canadian company founded in Kingston, Ontario. Established in 1992, Concord Engineering offers a broad range of consulting and engineering-related services to our clients in the private, public, government and insurance/legal sectors.  Our services have grown from our core strengths in geotechnical engineering to include structural engineering, environmental engineering, hydrogeology, and probable cause and origin investigations. We provide consultation on property matters from the ground up, from foundations to roofing.  Our expertise extends from domestic wells and onsite sewage issues to residential fuel oil spills.

Our talented group of professionals have a unique and diverse skillset and have been offering innovative solutions and providing consulting experience to projects both big and small.  Our well established partnerships with local contractors maximizes our ability to readily deploy resources, to manage projects efficiently and to provide the timely and cost effective support our customers have come to expect from us.

Our Philosophy

It is our firm belief that high quality project assessment and management can only be achieved through accurate, detailed, diligent field representation by competent, knowledgeable investigators.  This ensures dependable results, efficient use of technical and financial resources, shorter remediation timelines and reliable mitigation.

Our Team

Concord is comprised of professional engineers and technologists who perform all aspects of engineering investigations.  Our staff is complimented by local professional and industry experts who work jointly with Concord as technical advisors.

In order to provide our clients with superior quality services, each project is managed by one of our senior managers.

Gary J. Grant, C.E.T

President, Director

Mr. Grant has over 30 years of experience in the geotechnical, construction, environmental and building sciences disciplines.  Practical and technical experience has been gained through managing, conducting and reporting on small to large scale projects throughout his career.  Mr. Grant is a licenced well technician.

R. David Oliver, P.Eng.

Senior Project Engineer

Mr. Oliver’s background in geotechnical / environmental engineering spans over 30 years with a strong focus on construction supervision and building sciences.  Mr. Oliver also provides expertise in structural engineering, sewage system design, forensic investigations relating to insurance claims, peer reviews and liaison with regulatory agencies (TSSA/MOECC) to ensure environmental compliance.    Mr. Oliver is an OBC designer and a licenced well technician.

Matthew R.M. Farrell, P.Eng.

Project Engineer

Mr. Farrell is a civil engineer with several years of experience in the design and management of diverse projects including building construction, rehabilitation and replacement of bridges/tunnels, retaining walls, roads, and various infrastructure systems. He provides expertise regarding structural investigations and reporting, modelling/analysis, detailed design, contract document and drawing preparation, peer reviews, as well as construction supervision.
